Classic Ridge,
As you may know Brandon of Trail Keepers is supporting the Trail Access Campaign with his knowledge of trail building. He has contributed significantly to the efforts with the City of Manzanita. We are grateful for his contributions!
What you may not know is that he is also leading an effort to help build a new segment of the Oregon Coast Trail. With that in mind he is inviting our community to come join Trailkeepers of Oregon as they perform new trail construction/ annual maintenance on a brand new segment of the Oregon Coast Trail from Neahkahnie Mountain to Nehalem Road in Manzanita!! Plan to hike less than a mile to the work area and work using a variety of hand tools, including hand saws. They prioritize safety and fun over quantity of work accomplished and encourage people to try different things and work at a comfortable pace. No experience is necessary -- you'll be working with experienced crew leaders who will teach you all you need to know. What to bring: • Plenty of water • Snacks • Lunch
What to wear:
• Hiking Boots (Please wear something sturdy that will protect your toes from sharp tools. Tennis shoes are not recommended! Open toed shoes will not be allowed.) • Work gloves (please bring your own) • Long sleeved shirts and pants. • Rain gear as appropriate for the weather • Volunteers will supply hard hats and safety glasses
Directions: Detailed directions will be provided via email 2 days before the work party.
It you are interested in attending please RSVP HERE.
