Hello Classic Ridge Trail Access Campaign Members,
It has come to our attention that the real estate agency Pete Anderson is no longer listing the affected properties that intersect with Doris Davis Trail. While they did not share the specifics as to why they no longer carry the listing, we are requesting that the community no longer reach out to them with questions related to the Doris Davis trail closure.
To that end we are reaching out directly to the affected property owners in hopes of bringing a dialogue regarding this historic trail. We are hopeful that as long time members of this community, they will be amiable to discussing the situations and we look forward to finding a resolve. It is important to note that we have engaged legal counsel but would prefer to find a solution that is beneficial to both them and the classic ridge community.
Regardless, we are researching alternative trail options and have been assigned a liaison from the city of Manzanita to navigate this effort by the Mayor of Manzanita, Michael Scott. We will be submitting a proposal at the city council meeting held on June 3rd. Thank you STAN for your efforts! For more information regarding this meeting see below...

We are also working with the director of Trailkeeers of Oregon Steve Kruger. They have a local north coast trails steward who will be supporting us in our efforts -- Brandon Tignor. Brandon will be providing counsel on all of our trail efforts and we are grateful for his support. Please take a moment to visit their website. They are doing some great work and we are excited to add them to our team! Thank you CONNIE for your introductions!
We have been doing our best to inform neighbors of this Campaign. This include the website (Thank you Idealist Consulting); canvasing (Thank you SARAH and ROB); reaching out to multiple municipalities (Thank you LAURIE). Without the support of these thoughtful volunteers this would be much harder. We appreciate you!
Finally, the Trail Access Campaign does not endorse any person communicating issues related to this trail closure with the affected property owners, unless they are authorized to do so through the Trail Access Campaign Committee. Moreover, the Trail Access Campaign does not endorse trespassing or vandalism of any sort. Please do not take matters into your own hands. This effort is to support our community as a whole. It is only through working together that we will reach an amicable resolution.
We have now reached over 70 households in the Classic Ridge community. You have all written such thoughtful emails. We hear you and are making every effort to represent your concerns. Please spread the word and share our efforts with your neighbors!
Stay healthy and stay tuned for more updates!
Thank you Stan for an informative presentation to the city council. We want to be involved with getting this trail project completed.
My husband and I want to help build this new trail, we can donate money, and we would be willing to communicate with the community. I have experience as a teacher and mentor and have worked collaboratively with different groups. My husband is a building contractor and has organized teams with Habitat for Humanity and other groups to complete projects.
Please feel free to let us know what your needs are at this time. We would like to be involved with the group and the specific goals.
