We have made some progress with the Doris Davis Trail. As a quick reminder this is what has happened thus far... First, a court trial has been slated for the second half of 2022 and those impeding the trail have been officially served. This lets those impeding the trail about the case and requires them to appear. We are hopeful that an agreement can be found and we will be monitoring the progress as the trial approaches.
Second, a petition has been submitted to Tillamook County stating the fences that have been erected across the utility easement (that services a significant portion of the Classic Ridge) are a risk to the community. TAC has resubmitted the petition. In addtion multiple phone calls and emails have been submitted with little response from the municipality. We suspect this is partially due to the challenges of Covid and will continue our efforts. Third, we were able to collect a number of thoughtful statements regarding the historic use of the trail. Thanks to those who made those statements and they will be helpful as we move forward with our efforts toward Doris Davis access.
In closing we would like to thank all our volunteers and the supporters. We have all been frustrated at the speed of the Doris Davis effort but if it were not for their commitment, we are certain the progress of trail access to Doris Davis trail would have been much, much slower.
Thank you!
