It is worth mentioning that I did some research with the city a while back when the new property owner on the north end of Cherry St. Purchased the lot that spans the dune trail to the beach and put up the “stabilization“ sign. The city was aware that the owner planned to eliminate access to that trail. They also mentioned that there is a street that is plotted on the city map that connected Cherry St. to Ocean road down at the beach. The road was never constructed but it is still plotted on the map and considered city property and public right of way. She also said that the homeowner that has the house down the dune from cherry (haphazardly) built their driveway across the area designated for the city road that is plotted there. Nothing was ever done about it but it would definitely be an option for easy beach access if we do end up losing both beach trails on either end of Cherry St.
